Remove the access database password

To remove the database password in Access 2007 and 2010, follow the steps below:

Access 2007

1. Open the database that you want to remove password in Exclusive Mode

2. Click Database Tools tab

3. Click Decrypt Database in Database Tools group

The Unset Database Password dialog box appears:

4. Type your database password in the Password text box

5. Click Ok

Note: If you do not know how to open the database in Exclusive Mode, see Setting the database password in Access 2007 tip.

Access 2010

1. Open the database file in Exclusive Mode

2. Click File tab

3. Click Decrypt Database icon

The Unset Database Password displays:

4. Enter the database password in the Password text box

5. Click Ok
