Lock MS Access 2010 database file with password

To prevent your database file from opening by the other person, you must set password to it. To set database file with password do the following:

1. Open the database file in Exclusive Mode. Follow the steps below:

    If your database file is opening, close and reopen it:

     - Click File tab-> Click Open

    The Open file dialog box shows:

     - Click the drop down arrow next to the Open button, select Open Exclusive

2. Click File tab

3. Click Encrypt with Password

The Set Database Password dialog box appears:

4. Enter your password into the Password  and Verify text boxes

5. Click Ok

Note: The password you type in the two text boxes must be the same.
