filter function

The filter function returns those items of sequence for which function (item) is true. For example, you have a list:[1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10], and you want to filter only the even numbers from the list. This problem will be solved by filter function.

>>> lst=range(1,11)

>>> def evennumbers(item):

return item % 2==0

>>> filter(evennumbers,lst)

[2, 4, 6, 8, 10]


Note: The a parameter is important because it refers to each element of the list lst1.
