Python tutorial-accessing types

Accessing types of variables

To know the type of your variables declared, you can use type () built-in method.

>>> x=20000

>>> type(x)

<type 'int'>

>>> yourname=''

>>> type(yourname)

<type 'str'>

>>>

In Python, integer values are very large (–2147483648<value< 2147483647).

>>> x=2147483647

>>> type(x)

<type 'int'>

>>> x=2147483648

>>> type(x)

<type 'long'>

>>>
