Export table

XIII. Export Table

Export Table is a process of bringing a table out from a current database to another Access database or ODBC Database(e.g. SQL Server) or to the other file formats include Excel, Text File, XML File, PDF or XPS, Word, dBASE File and so on. In this section, we introduce you how to export to a table to Access database. For example, export TblEmployee of SaleAndStock database to ProductManagement database. To do so, follow the steps below:

- Open SaleAndStock database

- Click External Data tab

- Click Microsoft Access 2010 export icon or right-click TblEmployee

- Point mouse pointer to Expert

- Point mouse pointer to Access

Export-Access Database appears:

- Click Browse button to look for the location of Database1

- Click Ok

An Export dialog box loads:

Definition and Data: Export all structures and data of the table.

Definition Only: Export only structures of the table.

- Click Ok

A Save Export Steps dialog box appears:

- Tick Save export steps check box, you will see a figure as the figure below:

Save as: The name of Save export steps; enter a new name if you want to change the provided name.

Description: It is the description of Save export steps. You want to type the description or not is up to you; it does not require.

- Click Save Export if you want to save the export steps. In case, you want to export a table many time, select this option. This option also allows you export the table to many Access databases.

- Click Cancel if you don't want to save the export steps.

For example, you want to export TblEmployee of SaleAndStock database to Database1 database by using Saved Exports that you had saved it. To use Save Exports, follow the steps below:

- Open SaleAndStock database

- Click Microsoft Access 2010 using Saved Export; the Manage Data Tasks dialog box appear as the figure below:

- Select the path to change the path of the database(the path of Database1) that you want to export the table to, and then click the text you want to edit. Edit the path of the database as the figure below:
