XII. Update Query

Update query is also a type of the action query that you can use to update data in an existing table. For example, update address field of TblTeacher from PP to Phnom Penh. To do this task, follow the steps:

Suppose you are in an opened database

- Click Create tab

- Click Query Design in the queries group

- Click TblTeacher, and then click Add button

- Drag and drop or double-click the necessary fields into the query design grid

- Click Microsoft Access 2010 update icon query icon

- Type 'Phnom Penh' and 'PP' as shown in the figure below:

- Click Run to update the address field

To see the result open TblTeacher.

XIII. Delete Query

Delete query is a type of action query that allows you to delete the data in an existing table. For example, you want to delete records that contain BookID equal to B004. To do so, follow the steps below:

Suppose you are in an opened database

- Click Create tab

- Click Query Design in the queries group

- Click TblBook, and then click Add button

- Drag and drop or double-click the necessary fields into the query design grid

- Click Microsoft Access 2010 delete query query icon

- Type B004 in the Criteria in query design grid
